You can do your best and still come out on the short end of the stick…

I haven’t walked in your footsteps but I’ve seen the steps you have taken,
I don’t live within your mind or the influences which sway you.
I cannot explain the choices you make, have made or will make
but I love you, encourage you and pray for you…

There is much evil in this world and many who live to do evil are readily available to sweep us off our feet, lie to us and steal our joy, health and life from us…

Ladies if you are fortunate one day you will become a mother and soon enough you will feel that little life move beneath your rib cage. There will be nothing you wouldn’t do short of sell your soul for your child, nothing will stop you from loving them not even the worst possible choices they make.

Men if you are fortunate one day you will become a father and soon enough you will feel that tiny tumbling body beneath the surface of a woman’s midriff as it tosses, turns and matures within her womb. Then and there you will make promises to love, protect and provide and short of selling your soul for your child, nothing will stop you from loving them not even the worst possible choices they make.

I do not condemn my child, I forgive them.

I condemn the evil in their life and around them. Temptation is something we all battle and no matter how much we believe we would make better choices than they have…we won’t always…

I see my child’s failings through the eyes of forgiveness because when we fall to temptation, we really do not know what we embrace until later…in the dark of the night when we think on the choices and the results…

There is no condemnation not for them, not for you, not for me in the light of the love of Jesus and for me, for now I turn my child over to the light and pray for their soul…and when your baby is wandering through this world you too will look beyond their poor choices and failings and love them anyway…in the end it is the love of God and family that brings us through our failings and helps us overcome our shortcomings…and for this I am thankful…

Friends…
we cannot control what another person chooses to do but we can control how we respond and what we say about them and their choices…I encourage you to see the good in a person, love the good in that person and speak of good over that person NONE OF US know the battle they endure each and everyday they live…give life with your confession over your loved ones…
